Empower People With Life-Saving First Aid Skills

Our Mission

To help ordinary individuals learn the skills needed to keep people safe and save lives in everyday situations. From helping a parent suffering from a heart attack to treating a stranger for shock, we believe first aid is an essential first step to creating a safer Canada.

Our Values

It’s our philosophy that morals and ethics come first in this business, as outlined by our values. First Aid Near Me is all about removing barriers that prevent the population from becoming certified first aiders. If you find yourself behind one, please let us know.

Our Founder

This company is proudly Canadian and was started for one reason, to help save lives. The founder, Dirk Popen, has experienced first hand what can happen without this crucial skill and has vowed to make a difference across the nation. As our lead instructor, Dirk has developed a high quality, standardized, training system crafted through his years of real world experience. Candidates consistently finish their course feeling confident and competent as first aiders ready to deal with any emergency.

Heck ya we do! While Emergency and Standard First Aid are WorkSafeBC approved equivalents to Occupational First Aid, and will be accepted as such, we also offer private OFA courses. Reach out via info@firstaidnearme.ca for more info.

Yes! Of course! Both Emergency First Aid and Standard First Aid are WorkSafeBC approved. As a Training Partner and Affiliate of the Red cross and Life Saving Society, we are authorized to issue OFA Level 1 equivalents that are accepted in lieu of OFA.

Absolutely! First Aid Near Me is happy to issue recertifications for any former Red Cross, St John’s Ambulance, Heart and Stroke or Life Saving Society certificate. Please present to your instructor on the day of your course.

Instructors will issue a temporary certificate immediately after the successful completion of any of our courses. In the following 4-6 weeks, you’ll receive your official certificate via email.

All of the courses provided by First Aid Near Me are certified through either the Red Cross, Life Saving Society or the Canadian Safety Council (youth courses specifically). FANM is an authorized Training Partner and Affiliate of the Red Cross and the Life Saving Society.

All First Aid Courses are designed for those 13+ years old. Too young for those? We also have the Home Alone Program (10+ years old) and the Babysitting course (12+ years old) available on a regular basis.

Basic Life Support is a new course that replaces Health Care Provider First Aid. Think of these two as being identical courses just with a new and improved name.Â
